Thursday Science: Exploring the Magic of Magnets!

This week in science, our K1, K2, and K3 classes explored the fascinating world of magnets! The lesson started with a worksheet where the children colored the objects they thought would be attracted to a magnet. The page featured everyday items like keys, spoons, erasers, and coins, sparking lots of curious guesses.

After the coloring activity, we brought out a box filled with the same objects from the worksheet. The kids were thrilled to dive in and test their predictions! They eagerly tried their magnets on items like keys, coins, and even their own socks and shoes. Some objects stuck to the magnet right away, while others didn’t, leading to some excited “oohs” and “ahhs.”

At the end of the activity, we gathered to discuss what surprised them and what matched their expectations. Many were amazed to learn that magnets don’t stick to everything metallic, like coins. It was a wonderful opportunity for hands-on discovery and learning.

Our magnet exploration was a hit, inspiring curiosity and a love for science. We can’t wait to see what surprises next week’s lesson will bring!
