It’s a Hydrangea fair!

It is the time of year when hydrangeas are blossoming all around Hakodate, filling the city with their vibrant purple, white, and pink flowers.
We decided to make our flowers at school this week, using materials and techniques new to most of our students.

We rolled paper clay into a ball, pressed it on the paper, and then, using a Q-tip, we pushed it all the “flowers” made of colorful tissue paper. It was an easy, fun, and rewarding technique for everyone to learn, and the results were nothing short of stunning!

The flowers looked so good, just like real hydrangeas blossoming gently in the sun.
