This week, we celebrated St Patrick’s Day at our school.
It was a sea of shades of greens coming through the door in the morning, as everyone was spot on with their attire and showed up dressed in the lucky color, head to toe!
The kids learned about St Patrick’s Day through a fun yes no quiz, which challenged them and helped them understand more about this tradition. Some of the questions were tricky! But the bigger kids led the way and helped the little ones run to the right answer!
Next we were ready for the main event: the treasure hunt! But with nothing to collect our treasures, we decided to make our own St Patrick’s Day paper “pots.” The kids loved decorating them with bright colors, adding all the symbols of this celebration: shamrocks, gold coins, and rainbows. We saw it all.
Then, is was on! The kids started the gold hunt with enthusiasm, and found some really enormous gold nuggets hidden in the corners of the school! They also helped everyone that needed some extra eyes to get their share, and it was a fun, heartwarming moment for us all.
Lastly, after all the gold was secured in our cups, it was time for a yummy snack to recover, and what better than eating green apple jelly all together to conclude this very fun day!
