This week in Tuesday Art, Teacher Roberta led a sweet and creative project to celebrate the coming of spring! The classroom was filled with color and excitement as the children got to work making their very own yarn “woven” baskets.
We started by cutting paper cups to create the base for each basket. Then, using colorful yarn, the children carefully wrapped and glued the yarn around the cups, making them look like beautiful handwoven baskets. Each basket was unique, bright, and full of personality!
To finish, the kids made tiny paper flowers and placed them inside their baskets — the perfect touch to welcome spring. The combination of soft yarn and delicate flowers made for an adorable result that had everyone proudly showing off their creations.
This simple but special project helped the children practice fine motor skills and creativity while filling the classroom with cheerful spring vibes.
